Vacationers take to Alabama's beaches despite frigid temps, cold wind
Alabama -- Frigid temps and a wicked wind off the Gulf of Mexico didn't keep holiday vacationers off the beach on Wednesday. At Gulf Shores Public Beach the Fitch family from Albertville, Ala. was found walking along the shoreline.
"We started the day flying kites," said Steven Fitch, who was with his two daughters. "It wasn't much of a challenge. We just let the kites go and they were up."
On the boardwalk the Lloyd family from Arkansas was enjoying the plentiful sunshine on a bench, feeding the seagulls.
